GMA Satisfaction Rating Drops To -74 In April

Rating among the lowest since 2004

The net satisfaction rating of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo fell further by almost 10 percentage points from January, according to the latest findings of the IBON nationwide survey.The April 2008 survey showed that Pres. Arroyo’s satisfaction rating dropped to -74 from -64 in January 2008. Asked what they thought of Pres. Arroyo’s performance as chief executive over the past three months, 81.67% of respondents said they are unsatisfied, while 7.69% are satisfied.

IBON executive editor Rosario Bella Guzman noted that four years ago in April 2004, Pres. Arroyo’s satisfaction rating was at -30. The current -74 satisfaction rating is among the lowest for the President since then, says Guzman.

The net satisfaction rating is the difference between the percentage of satisfied and unsatisfied responses. The latest survey round was conducted across various sectors nationwide from April 7 to 16 with 1,495 respondents. The IBON survey used a multi-stage probability sampling scheme with a margin of error of plus or minus three percent.
